Our Early Morning Activity Pack has 200 ideas and activities for children to try at the start of the school day. They’re open-ended activities, covering a wide range of subjects and topics, that can be completed while the teacher is doing the register. Of course, they could also be used at other times of the day, for example, when children have finished the tasks set or as a short activity after the lunch break.

- TWO HUNDRED Activity Ideas – The ideas in this pack are all on individual pages in a PDF document. This means that they could be shown on a large screen (e.g. an interactive whiteboard) or printed for use by individual children or groups. They are also available in sets of smaller cards to save your printer ink!
- One EMA Pack checklist – A checklist is also available for teachers, so that you can tick / highlight which ideas have been used with your class!
An alternative set of resources is also included for use with older learners. These include images of older teenagers and adults instead of children and do not include references to ‘school’. Thanks to our member Carey for this suggestion! Watch the video below to view samples of resources from the Early Morning Activity Pack.

I have only recently found this pack and I love it! My class love the variety of tasks and it is a great bank of material to have for first thing in the morning or even as an early finishers activity, thank you so much for this creative pack!!
The photographs and illustrations are fabulous to encourage short writing tasks and creativity.
The prompts are in 3 types to encourage different writing styles.
I use as early morning activities and for my EAL classes.
Great selection of pictures suitable for different ages.
I have used this pack over and over in many ways. It can be used each morning to start the day. It is a valuable resource for group work and differentiation activities. Thank you for your quality products. I am so pleased to have found this site.
Excellent resource to print off and laminate.
Worked in a college over the last few years, these would have been great on Meet and Greet as students entered building. We used to ask them random questions to boost mood and start day with a positive. Wish I had them then but will manage to use them again this year.
Could be good resource for Supply Teachers.
These early morning activities are just what I have been looking for as we havea "soft start" in school - like to keep my Y6 busy and engaed as soon as they come into the classrwork room, with worthwhile learning!
Thank you!
Love these! Great quick ideas for settling the children in for the morning or if you have a few minutes to fill. Thank you for making different versions of these so they can be used in a variety of ways.
I will be covering P2 and P7 one day a week each. These EMT packs will allow me to get the register taken and any other admin dealt with while the kids are kept busy. I will possibly also use them as fast finisher activities. The variety gives something for everyone.
These EMT packs were the main reason I subscribed to Teaching Packs, and they were exactly what I needed. Lots of different activities to keep your class engaged purposefully at the start of a day. My class enjoy discussing their answers with me, and each other. I'd love a 3rd set!!
Lots of great ideas that can be adapted for any year level.
I sometimes use this as a reward with the classes that have lessons in the library with me. They love it! Other times, I have found activities which have helped children tune in to the planned lessons. Very versatile.
