Write a diary entry from this character’s point of view. How are they feeling about what lies ahead? What do they notice from the scene?
- Where is this journey going to take that person?
- Why have they chosen to begin a journey? Did they have a choice?
- What time of day is it?
- What kind of person do you think they are? How would you describe their personality?
- Are they going to make this journey alone or with others?
- Investigate day and night and explain why we have sunrises and sunsets.
- Make a list of books that feature journeys, for example The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien. How many can you think of?
- What journeys have you made today? What about in the last week? Last year? Your whole life? Write a list of journeys that are important to you.
