Good Friday is the day that Jesus was crucified by the Romans on a hill outside Jerusalem. It is marked in some places by the carrying of a cross through the streets before the Good Friday church service takes place.
Good Friday falls on the Friday before Easter Sunday, during Holy Week.
The actual date changes from year to year because of the way Easter is determined.
This BBC video tells the story of Easter, including Good Friday.
